Home Sweet Dome & Xmas Cheer

December 3, 2012 at 12:15 pm (Uncategorized)

Robin Hood kids have had a fun few weeks building the willow dome – Many thanks to Nasreen and Nefeli for creating such a great community project, it looks fantastic. We need to keep it wet so if we get any dry periods we do need to water it. They’ll be returning in the spring to run some childrens’ activities in the dome and grow some beans over it!

Last week we also managed to weed the veg beds, plant some garlic and sort out the leaf mould bins ready for a delivery of leaves from the park.

Our new committee member Alia has also been busy with garden regulars making willow xmas trees to decorate the garden ready for our winter celebration on Sunday December 16th, 2pm -5pm for all volunteers and their friends/family -bring some food and drink to share and we hope to have hot soup/potatoes too.                                                                                                              Kath, Nov.

Some pictures of the Dome building project here and a write up from Nasreen and Nefeli soon . . .

“Be careful don’t knock it over because we made that” Comment from one young participant to some adults who wanted to go in and have a look – Ownership is there already – great!

MIDWINTER CELEBRATION!

A lovely turn out for our midwinter feast at Robin Hood.  Cakes, pies, soup, stews, and dough sticks over the fire!! Alia made some fantastic xmas trees and the kids enjoyed glitter spraying the fallen autumn leaves.
