Maid Marion’s Tea Stop – Cakes for your Thoughts

October 22, 2012 at 7:49 pm (Uncategorized)

It was a soggy yet, as always, cheery day at the garden this Sunday. It was our first green shelter public consultation day where everyone had their chance to feedback their ideas on the proposed build. Maid Marion aka Alia set up stall with a battalion of delicious cakes and swathes of gingham and really drew in the crowds. We had positive feedback on everything – from rocky road brownies to Anne Couringtons shelter artwork. We gained a lot of constructive ! ideas for the shelter, which will be available to view here soon.

HACKNEY IN BLOOM awards night

October 16, 2012 at 7:13 pm (Uncategorized)

“It was superb to be getting the award that night, we have looked after the vegetables well, grew them from seed, so they became very very very tasty and everyone enjoyed them, especially peas straight from the pod, and nasturtium flowers are yummy too.” Josef age 7.

A few of our younger members receive the JOINT 3RD PRIZE  for food growing at the lovely annual event Hackney in Bloom. Report from Hackney today – full link here :
