I am delighted to inform you that the Robin Hood Community Garden has won first place in the Best Community Project category of the 2011 Hackney in Bloom competition; please accept our congratulations. The standards in this year’s competition were very high and our judges were very impressed with all the projects they visited.

Maimie and Josef made a grave for dead insects. They found ‘Blacky’ the Beetle squashed on the path and then held a ceremony for him at the back of the garden. RIP.
A hot sunny Sunday at the beginning of the summer holidays. Pete makes a child’s rattle out of weaving the grass together originally it would have had a bumble bee inside to make the rattle sound.
