Imaginary Archiving

April 12, 2011 at 3:06 pm (Uncategorized)

We have collected some beautiful pieces for the ‘museum’ project. Thanks to everyone who has seen a glint in the soil and added it to the collection. The pieces come from so many eras, spanning broken crockery from the 2nd world war bombing of this area to toy cars and counters from the old one oclock kids site 8 years ago. Plans for the  project are still being mulled over,  add your thoughts to our message section. A small table top which documents the finds under glass? Or a decorative table top which we can use in a picnic area. It could be a nice idea for all of you to keep your broken crockery and add it to the archive, so a bit of each of us can be added for posterity.

Happy Trees + Happy People = Happy Garden

April 12, 2011 at 2:12 pm (Uncategorized)

March 27th

The apple has burst forth its buds, everyone thrilled.  Orchard Carers, kids with water pistols, passers by …we have all done our bit in this blossom midwifery.

Enjoying the sun, catching up on news. The garden is a lovely place to get to know your neighbours. You could say hi to someone in your street every day for twenty years and not know them any better…whereas a weekly dig in the rain or sun turns up not just lovely shiny worms but plenty of serendipid connections.

Biff enjoying a stretch on the grass hearth rug…soon she will be able to roll the length and breadth of the orchard as turf is arriving next week!!

Vicky rakes ready for the turfs arrival… .  watch this space!
